On December 27, 2024, the Royal Gazette, Volume 141, Issue 83, published the Ministerial Regulation on Child Allowance Benefits (No. 3) B.E. 2567. The regulation states that, in accordance with the powers under Section 7, Paragraph 1, and Section 75 of the Social Security Act B.E. 2533, the Minister of Labour has issued the following regulation:
Section 1: This regulation shall be effective from January 1, 2025, onward.
Section 2: The provision in Section 4 of the Ministerial Regulation on Child Allowance Benefits B.E. 2561, as amended by the Ministerial Regulation on Child Allowance Benefits (No. 2) B.E. 2564, is hereby repealed and replaced with the following:
"Section 4: The child allowance benefit shall be paid as a lump sum of 1,000 Baht per month per child."
This regulation is given on December 26, 2024.
Starting from January 1, 2025, cancer treatment is available at all hospitals. Insured persons can receive treatment at any hospital that has an agreement with the Social Security Office. Social Security will cover the payment, so there is no need to receive treatment exclusively at Social Security hospitals according to the benefits.
This initiative is part of the program called "SSO cancer anywhere" Insured individuals under Section 33 and Section 39 who are diagnosed with cancer can receive treatment at any hospital, both public and private, that has partnered with Social Security and has the capacity to provide cancer treatment according to the standards set by the Social Security Office.
The Social Security Office has moved forward by expanding the list of contracted hospitals, adding 7 new hospitals. In 2025, no hospitals have exited the contract. Therefore, this year there will be a total of 271 Social Security hospitals, consisting of 174 government hospitals and 97 private hospitals.
The 7 newly contracted hospitals for 2025 are as follows:
Government hospitals:
1. Chulabhorn Hospital, Bangkok
2. Kanchanadit Hospital, Surat Thani
3. Rajavithi 2 (Rangsit) Hospital, Pathum Thani
4. Bang Khun Thian Geriatric Hospital, Bangkok
Private hospitals:
1. Vathana Samui Hospital, Surat Thani
2. Phyathai Sriracha 2 Hospital, Chonburi
3. Ratchathani Nong Khae Hospital, Saraburi
On December 12, 2027, a meeting approved an increase in unemployment benefits. This is considered a fortunate and New Year's gift for insured persons across the country. In the event that an insured person is laid off, the board unanimously decided to increase the unemployment benefit from 50% to 60% of a monthly income of 15,000 Baht for a period not exceeding 6 months.
